The Hudson Motor Company had a number of ‘First for the Industry’ These were dual brakes, dashboard oil-pressure and generator lights, a balanced crank-shaft which helped the smooth running of the cars. Another first is they hired a woman designer in 1939. Elizabeth Ann Thacher a graduate of Cleveland Institute of Art, majored in Industrail Design. Her contributions were exterior trim with side lighting,interior instrument panel,interior design and fabrics. Hudson started in 1909 in Detroit, Michigan. The last Hudson rolled off the assembly line on June 25, 1957 in Kenosha, Wiscosin.
